Oharu is a nonprofit initiative committed to transforming the futures of underprivileged children in rural Bangladesh through access to education and stable housing. In many of these remote communities, schools are located far from home, and the lack of safe, affordable housing prevents countless students—especially girls—from continuing their education. Oharu steps in to bridge this gap by building low-cost, community-integrated hostels that give motivated students a place to live safely near their schools.

Our support doesn’t stop there. We carefully identify students who show promise and determination despite facing deep financial and social barriers. In addition to housing, we provide essential school supplies, daily necessities, and mentorship to create an environment where learning can thrive. We believe education is one of the most powerful tools to break the cycle of poverty, and our work is rooted in collaboration with local families and educators to ensure every child we support has the chance to thrive, pursue their dreams, and become a future leader within their community.
